Klavir Lab

The brain is a fascinating organ, a highly organized, fine-tuned network of information processing units, engaged in orchestrating the vast array of an organism’s functions, from heart-rate to complex behaviors, from respiration to cognition.  To add to complexity - the brain and the processing units constructing it can change as a result of changes in the environment in a process known as learning. Changes in the information flow and the delicate interplay within and between neural circuits directly affect behavior and play a crucial role in the neuronal mechanisms of learning and memory. Tapping in and controlling that information flow holds much potential in overcoming many of the neurological and behavioral abnormalities we are familiar with today.
